Une application mobile pour évaluer les sols forestiers

Texture

La meilleure estimation de la texture d’un sol est celle qui sera faite sur un échantillon de 2 à 4 cm3 prélevé dans les horizons minéraux. Les propriétés mécaniques du sol sont alors estimées en manipulant l'échantillon entre les doigts pour l’associer à une des cinq catégories établies, nommées classes de texture. On essaie de l’écraser, de le rouler entre les doigts, de le faire glisser entre le pouce et l’index. Il est souvent intéressant de tester les propriétés mécaniques sur l'échantillon sec, humide et détrempé (ou noyé). Si l’échantillon est trop sec, il faudra l’humecter en évitant de le noyer.

La texture est évaluée selon un triangle en 5 classes adapté à partir des triangles de l’Aisne (15 classes) et de la FAO (5 classes) : Argile lourde, Argileux, Limoneux, Équilibré et Sableux.

Type de fonctionnement biologique dans les litières forestières défini selon l’organisation en séquence des horizons organiques et organo-minéraux. Aide à la description issue de (l'application TerrHum) créée par Augusto Zanella, complétée par des photos ONF et des textes issus du (référentiel pédologique français). Le type de fonctionnement biologique des litières renseigne sur la vitesse et la profondeur d'incorporation dans le sol minéral des éléments nutritifs (recyclage des éléments nutritifs des litières qui permet de les rendre à nouveau disponible pour la végétation).
