Astract: The PIVERT project, associated with other ongoing projects (RootBurgundy, Renumex, Ideogreffe, RESGRAPE-Rootstock), aims to acquire data allowing to propose new rootstocks to the sector from the range of those existing abroad or from a selection program. The PIVERT project therefore pursues several objectives: 1-The acquisition of references on rootstocks already existing and little or not used; 2- The acquisition of essential data for the study of genetic determinism and the identification of molecular markers of essential characters, especially from the F1 8771 hybrid, and Vitis berlandieri and Vitis rupestris species to select new rootstocks (resistance to phylloxera, X.index and rooting ability and drought resistance); 3-Making crosses and obtaining a large number of seeds to make an early selection later (with molecular markers) previously identified. These pips will be derived from crosses between F1 8771 hybrid and 110R, 140Ru or other rootstocks. This long-term project is essential for the industry that has to reduce inputs and cope with climate change.
