The ECOVEA team (Ecology of Aquatic Vegetable Communities and the Impact of Multiple Pressures) has several rooms to carry out its research work.

Preparation and observation room

This room is mainly dedicated to the preparation, observation and determination of samples of aquatic plants (phytoplankton, phytobenthos and macrophytes) and freshwater micro-meiofauna. Observations are carried out using macro and microscopic tools. The samples of interest are then kept in a collection.

Main equipment:

•     35 m of bench
•     7 microscopes including 2 Fluorescence and 2 inverted (Olympus, Leica). 4 of them are equipped with a digital camera and image acquisition and processing software (Archimed). The lenses range from X4 to X100. The microscopes are equipped with phase contrast and DIC
•     1 binocular (Olympus) equipped with a digital camera and image acquisition and processing software (Archimed)
•     1 flow cytometer coupled to a photonic microscope x4, x10 and x20 (FlowCam)
•     1 centrifuge
•     1 autoclave
•     2 ovens
•     1 freezer - 80°C
•     2 fume cupboards
•     1 ventilated safety cabinet

Mesocosm room

This air-conditioned room is mainly dedicated to the cultivation of micro-algae and micro-meiofauna and to experiments on aquatic plants (germination, growth tests, photosynthetic activity, grazing tests, etc.).

•     Stirring table
•     2 thermostatically controlled speakers
•     1 Fluorimeter (Phyto-Pam)
•     1 Ring bioreactor

Ecotoxicology and chemistry experiment room

It is in this space that the calibration of passive samplers and toxicity tests of micropollutants (especially pesticides) on benthic micro-algae in larger experimental systems are carried out.

Thermoregulated room

It is a multi-purpose room for experiments that require very precise thermoregulation.
