Research interests

My research interests are organised around two main themes:

  • Studying the impact of hybridization on species invasion and succession processes, with a focus on the effect of environmental factors on reproductive isolation.
  • Understanding the relative effects of environmental changes and species ecology on the structuration of biological diversity at both the population (genetic diversity) and community levels (species diversity).

I am particularly interested in the development of methodological tools and knowledge exchange in biodiversity management and conservation, and have worked on a range of species of plants, insects and vertebrates of ecological and economic interest.

Over the last 10 years, I have developed a strong interest in bioinformatics and computational biology to make best use of high-throughput sequencing technologies for the study of biodiversity. In particular, I am very kin to apply new inferential methods to link observed patterns of diversity in populations and processes that generate them.
