THEMES / RESEARCH TOPICS

Transposable elements (TEs) are mobile genetic elements that can move around the genome and can respond to environmental challenges. Therefore, TEs can affect gene expression and function in various ways, from contributing to proteic sequences to changing gene regulatory patterns. Consequently, they have an important role on plant evolution and adaptation. My work focuses on the contribution of transposable elements and structural variants to the genetic diversity and the apricot domestication/adaptation.
