RESEARCH TOPICS

Trained as a biologist, I have devoted most of my research to understanding the metabolism of plants (Soya, Corn, Tomato, Melon, etc.) and microorganisms (Hebeloma mossea, Bradyrhizobium japonicum, etc.). I have recognised expertise in the fields of NMR spectroscopy, plant biology, metabolism, metabolomics and fluxomics. D. Rolin was the coordinator of the French National Metabolomics and Fluxomics Infrastructure (MetaboHUB) from 2013 to 2020. Today within the UMR Fruit Biology and Pathology, we are trying to develop systems biology approaches to understand the development of fleshy fruits using the tomato as a model of fleshy fruits. The ultimate goal of our research is to better understand the biology of the fruit and to provide knowledge to improve fruit quality and yield. Functional genomics tools such as metabolomics and fluxomics allow us to explore the complexity of metabolic networks and to study their regulation. As fruit quality and yield are strongly dependent on the characteristics of carbon metabolism, our efforts are currently focused on the study of the plasticity and/or elasticity of metabolism during the development of fruits subjected to environmental constraints.
